Spain – Tenerife – trekking Anaga

Early 2022 we took a sabbatical and heaved our backpack, tent and hiking gear on our backs and travelled to southern Europe, where we hoped to find some warmth and sunshine. Never having been to the Canary Isles this was as good an opportunity as we could wish for. So we took the train, bus and boat to Tenerife. Normally we prefer to go camping, preferrably wild, on secluded beaches and in beautiful mountain landscapes. We did not know what to expect on the Canary Isles, but we were pleasantly surprised. You are not allowed to camp in protected nature areas, such as the Teide National Parks. But outside of the beaten paths there were not a lot of people anyway, and the people who were there seemed not to care about the presence of us and our tent.

Our first, four day, trip was in the far east of Tenerife: the Anaga peninsula. We explored beautiful coastlines and beaches to pitch our tent.
